The Art of Adventure

Since I was a child, I've done a lot of mountain outings. It's my passion. I grew up here in Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry, in the Basque Country, exploring the peaks near my home. Later, I also went to the Pyrenees with my family, especially in the Ossau Valley, Laruns, then further towards Cauterets. A few years ago, I started competing in trail races and spending more and more time in the mountains and on my bike. Each time, of course, I recorded everything on Strava with my GPS watch, adding photos and the routes of my activities.

I love looking back at my activities from one year to the next, for the same period, and seeing how the landscapes have changed, like during the great drought of 2022. All this remained well stored, but it was purely digital: lost in my phone or on hard drives. I found that really a shame.

I said to myself: why not put all this activity feed and data on paper? To have a real, written physical souvenir. If one day there is a technical problem and we lose everything, everything is deleted and we have nothing left. Whereas on paper, the memory remains forever. And besides, it's so much more pleasant to show to the family.
